President Joe Biden, through executive actions, has thus far cancelled $138 billion in student loan debt. This affects 3.7 million borrowers. Included are:
- 790,000 public servants have gotten their debt erased as a result, amounting to more than $56 billion.
- 510,000 disabled borrowers totaling $11.7 billion.
- 1.3 million borrowers whose schools have closed or were cheated have received $22.5 billion
- 153,000 borrowers who borrowed less than $12,000, and have been paying for at least 10 years
